Harold L. “Bucky” Wakershauser

PORTAGE – Harold L. “Bucky” Wakershauser, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.

Harold was born on August 2, 1943, in Portage, the son of Lester and Marion (Wolfram) Wakershauser.  He farmed all of his life with his brother Donald in Lewiston Township.  Harold was a longtime supporter of both boys and girls Warrior basketball.

Harold is survived by his nieces and nephews, Brenda (Mark) Ailes, Pamela Scheel, Thomas (Pamela) Klappstein, and Daniel Klappstein; other relatives; and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald; and his sister, Jean Klappstein.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage, with the Rev. David Juhl officiating.  Inurnment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Lewiston township.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
