

Shirley Jean Qualle (née Rollefson)
RIO/ARLINGTON — Shirley Jean Qualle (née Rollefson), age 90, passed away peacefully, with Dave by her side, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at At Home Again, in Rio.
Shirley was born June 27, 1935, to Desmond and Clara Rollefson in Ashippun, WI. She graduated from Oconomowoc High School where she met the love of her life, Dave. She went on to graduate from UW Whitewater and taught school for several years. She married Dave on June 24, 1956, in Oconomowoc, WI. Together, they had two daughters, Elizabeth and Amy. Shirley and Dave spent many years side by side running Arlington Feed and Grain and being active in the community. Shirley was an avid curler and golfer. Spent much time volunteering at St. Peter’s Church in Arlington. After retirement, David and Shirley enjoyed years of traveling together. They spent time with family at the cottage on Lake Wisconsin, and cheering grandchildren and great-grandchildren on at their sporting events.
Shirley loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Shirley’s family remembers fun summers at the cottage, trips to Disney World, and many other wonderful times together. Shirley is also remembered for her delicious pies and other desserts, but especially her potato salad. Shirley was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Marilyn (Sonny), Lila (Gordon), Barbara, Beverly (Mike), and Richard.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Dave; daughters, Elizabeth (Bill) Hutchinson and Amy (Steve) Paskey; siblings, John (John), Karen (Jerry), and Don (Sharon); along with seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Judy and Roxanne; and brothers-in-law Bud and Don (Jane); and also many friends and relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 303 Park Street, Arlington. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
