Emily Hayes

PORTAGE - Emily Hayes, age 32, of Portage, passed away, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her home, beating cancer, but with other health concerns.

Emily was born on August 22, 1993, at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, the daughter of Peter and Debbie (Brue) Hayes. She graduated from Portage High School in 2011. Emily loved making pizza with the kids and was always there to lend a helping hand. She dedicated her life to her boys and cherished every moment with them. Emily always had a smile on her face and treated everyone with kindness and compassion, especially her elders. Her warm heart, generosity, and caring spirit touched the lives of so many and will never be forgotten.

Emily is survived by her two sons, Brodey Jo Julius and Brayden Richard; her mother, Debbie Hayes; her siblings: Michael (Holly) Hayes and children, Shaylyn and Maverick; Jessica (Matt) Meier and children, Donavyn, Gabryella, MacKenzye, and Madyson; Jennifer Hayes (Craig) and children, Joseph and soon to be, Baby Hayes-Soldner; Philip Hayes; and Gilligan and Mary Ann; her uncles, Dale Brue, Randy (Sue) Brue, Jeff (Darci) Brue, Don Hayes, Philip (Tam) Hayes, Tom Hayes; and many cousins; her best friend, Krista Corbett; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Peter; grandparents, Sue and Philip Hayes, and Peggy and Don Brue; aunts, Barb Hayes and Diana Brue; and a loving cousin, Cody Brue.

A gathering, Celebrating Emily's Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Sunset Park in Portage. All friends and relatives are welcome to help celebrate the life of Emily.
