Danny Ross Gannon

OXFORD ‒ Danny Ross Gannon, 80, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, at his home in rural Oxford (New Haven Township).

He was born July 10, 1946, in Steuben County, Indiana to Howard Marion Gannon and Evelyn Joyce (German) Gannon. He attended school in Flint, Indiana and high school in Orland, Indiana before moving to a dairy farm in Oxford, Wisconsin in 1962. Danny graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1965. He remained on the family dairy farm for the rest of his life, retiring in 2011.

Danny married Kim (Diedrick) Gannon, April 12, 1997, in Portage, Wisconsin. Danny enjoyed fishing, trapping, hunting, flying model airplanes and Allis Chalmers antique tractors. He loved the rural life, Basset Hounds, and being outdoors. In later years, he could be seen regularly taking his dog for a scooter run along the local roads.

Danny is survived by his wife, Kim; sister, Ava Gannon, of Portland, Indiana; nephews, Greg (Margie) Ostrander, of Indiana, Jeff (Jen) Ostrander, of Indiana, Wes Horney, of Michigan, Matt (Sarah) Gannon, of Janesville; nieces, Jeania Bennett, of Indiana, Cindy Drumm, of Michigan, Laura Walters, of Michigan; many grand-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Sherman Gannon.

Danny was a member of the Wisconsin Trappers Association and Reedsburg Area Flyers Model Airplane Club.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with the Rev. Michele Hopp officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
