Alan Joseph Bevan

PORTAGE – Alan Joseph Bevan, a devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on June 18, 1960, Alan lived a life filled with simple pleasures, deep loyalties, and an unwavering love for his family.

Alan was a proud 1978 graduate of LaFollette High School. Throughout his life, he knew exactly how to find joy in the everyday. He was an avid sports fan who enthusiastically cheered on the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. Whether he was casting a line while fishing, playing a game of pool, foosball, or cornhole, or finding his luck at bingo, Alan brought an infectious energy to everything he did. He loved music, frequently singing along to his favorite classic rock tracks and soaking in the energy of live concerts. Above all else, Alan’s absolute favorite pastime was being with his family, who always remained his number one priority.

Alan's legacy of love lives on through his three daughters: Shawnya Goetz, Danielle (Dave) Neu, and Kelly (Cody) Serstad. He was the world's proudest grandfather to Chad Bevan, Brandon Bevan, Madisyn (Mason) Neu, Mercedez Neu, Sterling Serstad, Harlow Serstad, and Huxley Serstad, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. Alan was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frances and Richard Bevan, and his brother, Arthur Bevan.

Instead of mourning his departure, his family asks that you celebrate his life by putting on your favorite classic rock song, cheering extra hard for Wisconsin sports, and spending precious time with the ones you love.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home, in Portage, on Friday, October 2, 2026.  Inurnment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
