Raymond Joseph Weigel

Raymond Joseph Weigel, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, at ASPIRUS Tivoli in Portage, Wisconsin.

Raymond was born on January 27, 1940, in West Allis, Wisconsin, the son of Baltassar and Marie (Petrie) Weigel.

He began his career at Milwaukee Valve before joining the Fall River Foundry Group, where he dedicated over 40 years of his life. Through hard work, leadership, and commitment, Raymond eventually became a co-owner of the company, a role that reflected his integrity and strong work ethic.

Raymond married his high school sweetheart, Joyce McGarry, and was a devoted family man. He is survived by his son, Brennen (Kelly) Weigel; his grandchildren, Carson Weigel and Mackenzie Weigel; his sister, Mary Beth Weigel; along with other close relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joyce Weigel; and his second wife, Julie Weigel.

A man of many passions, Raymond loved flying and spent countless hours co-piloting over the years. He had a deep connection to the water, enjoying offshore fishing and the many boats he owned throughout his life. His greatest passion, however, was hunting—a love that began in his youth and took him on adventures across Alaska, British Columbia, and Mexico in pursuit of deer, elk, and bear.

Later in life, Raymond fulfilled a dream by purchasing a ranch in Montana, where he spent his later years hunting, raising beef cattle, and being a thoughtful and responsible steward of the land.

Raymond was also a devoted car enthusiast, especially fond of Corvettes. Known as a people person, he loved being around others, sharing stories and adventures. He was always willing to lend a helping hand—physically, emotionally, or financially—and will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and genuine care for others.

The family extends special thanks to Cecilia Alanis for her devoted care of Ray over the last six years, as well as the compassionate staff at ASPIRUS Tivoli in Portage.

Raymond will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
