Marilyn J. Smith

PACIFIC TOWNSHIP – Marilyn J. Smith, age 94, of the Township of Pacific, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn was born on August 17, 1930, in Vermont, the daughter of Albert and Elsie (Sommerfeld) Roberts. She had worked as a telephone operator for AT&T for many years. Marilyn was married to Francis “Leon” Smith on May 8, 1954. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2010. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Marilyn enjoyed doing ceramics and she loved to bake.

She is survived by her three children, Jeff Smith, Township of Pacific, Glenn Smith, Oxford, and Paula Smith, Township of Pacific; her son-in-law, Mark Hopkins, Cambria; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis “Leon”; her daughter, Kelly Hopkins; her son, Lee and his wife, Cathy; and her daughter-in-law, Dianne Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leeds, with Rev. Scott Schwertfeger and Rev. Jacob Scott co-officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Friday, at the church.

A memorial fund has been established.
