Wayne S. Schultz
PORTAGE – Wayne S. Schultz, age 81, of Portage, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born on April 10, 1943, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, the son of Melvin and Gladys (Lau) Schultz. He married Barbara Fisher on July 5, 1980. Wayne was a member of the Columbia County Corvette Club and enjoyed playing cards with his friends several nights a week. He loved vacations to Florida, cruises, breakfasts with his friends and attending sporting events. Wayne owned his own trucking company, Schultz Transfer. He later had retired from Ray-o-vac after 15 years of dedicated service, as a maintenance mechanic.
He is survived by his children, Debbie Schultz, Brenda Frasser, Michael Schultz, Daryel (Linda) Fisher, Dawn (David) Hess, Barbara Linn (Shawn) Barker, Michele Fisher (Mike Carroll), and Jason (Sabrina) Schultz; nieces, nephews, and his many grand and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara, his brother, Kenneth Schultz, his sisters, Carrie Severson and Donna Mae Schultz, and his granddaughter, Jackie Kadinger.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with his brothers-in-law, Theodore Durant and Danny Durant officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
