Lori Lee (Ellis) Schultz
CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP/MERRIMAC -- Lori Lee (Ellis) Schultz, age 64, unexpectedly passed away, with family by her side, on February 1, 2025, at Sauk Prairie Healthcare, in Prairie Du Sac.
Lori was born on June 18, 1960, in Portage, WI, the daughter of Jon J. and Marjorie (Burns) Ellis. Lori married her soulmate, Glenn Schultz, on April 25, 1981. Together they had two boys. Lori and Glenn were inseparable. She enjoyed teaching him how to cook a variety of foods. Together they enjoyed gambling, going out with friends, and taking road trips, but most of all she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow.
Lori, better known as “Mama Schultz,” by her community, had a passion for making delicious food. She was most known by her community for her cooking at the Varsity Club and H’s Place located in Merrimac. That is where you could find her famous soups, prime rib, and fish fry. It brought her great pleasure to meet and greet new and returning customers who turned into friends and family. She gained many years of experience cooking with her mother, Marge. Most notably at Cimaroli’s, Blankenhaus, and many other establishments, which allowed her to pass down those experiences to her children and grandchildren.
Lori is survived by her mother, Marge Ellis; her husband, Glenn Schultz; sons, Justin (Ashley) Schultz, Ryan (Anita) Schultz; grandchildren, Paul and Khloe Schultz, Isabelle (Issy) Annen, Hadlee and Ella Schultz, Jordan and Kali Murray, and Carter Hong; sisters, Annie Stensrud, Kari (Steve) Moore, Terri LaFleur; special nieces, Jessica McLean, Natasha Stensrud; and many more nephews and nieces; mother-in-law, Lyla Schultz; brothers-in-law, Larry Schultz, Alvin (Tracy) Schultz, Bill LaFleur, and Bill Tierney; sisters-in-law, Sara (Gary) Schultz, and Susan (Robert) Riegle; lifelong best friend, Gail (Josh) Hentges; as well as best friends, Terrie (Bob) Boehnen, special son and daughter Lonnie Riddle and Cathy Hunt; with many more relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Jon Ellis, father-in-law Willis Schultz, sister Cindy Tierney, brother Jon J. “Jimmy” Ellis, grandparents and brother-in-law John Stensrud, and many other relatives.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Merrimac Fire & Rescue Department, in Merrimac. Pastor Debbie Tank will say a few words and a prayer. Inurnment was private.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
