Shirley Mary Martin

PARDEEVILLE – Shirley Mary Martin, age 74, passed away on January 30, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born on May 30, 1950, in Portage, to Winston and Helen (Collins) Beahm. She graduated from Portage High School, in 1968. After high school, she worked for several years at United Parcel Service. Shirley went on to obtain a degree in Police Science and graduated from the Wisconsin Police Academy and worked for several law enforcement agencies, including, Columbia County Sheriff’s Department, and security at the Federal Court House for the U.S. Marshall’s Service, in Madison.

She enjoyed bowling, bike rides, walking, reading, taking her grandsons to Disney World, and going to Brewers baseball games. After retirement, from Unity Point – Meriter, Security Department, where she worked with the best staff and met amazing employees, she spent many wonderful times at Indian Trails Campground with her husband, her best friend, and the love of her life, Jerry. Shirley was always willing to help anyone in need, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons, Devin and Jaxon, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her beautiful daughter Angela; wonderful son-in-law Dan Schelvan; her special grandsons Devin and Jaxon; sister, Sally Van Wormer; brother, Winston (Sue) Beahm; sisters-in-law, Cindy Beahm, Judy Collins, and Cheryl Ashworth; brothers-in-law, Larry Martin, William (Joyce) Martin, and Ricky (Lynn) Martin; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends,

She was preceded in death by her parents, Winston and Helen; her in laws, Clarence and Rosie Martin; son, Bradley Martin; brothers, William Beahm, George and Harold Collins; brother-in-law, James Van Wormer; nephews, Jeremy Beahm and Jay Van Wormer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, in Portage, Wisconsin, on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Savio Yerasani presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, in Portage. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.
