Donna-belle Ruth LaSure

ENDEAVOR – Donna-belle Ruth LaSure, age 94, of Endeavor, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born on March 23, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ervin and Violet (Ward) Nickerson. She married Rev. Clifford Arthur LaSure on April 16, 1955, in Janesville, Wisconsin. Donna enjoyed bird watching, word searches, drawing and making art canvases. Most of all she enjoyed a cup of black tea with her husband. Donna loved children and she was a favorite teacher by the many kids she taught in pre-school and Sunday School and loved thirteen foster children like she was their own mother. Donna also volunteered for many years at the Salvation Army.

She is survived by her children, Larry and Nikki LaSure of Endeavor, Stephen and Denise LaSure of Deerfield, Glen LaSure, and Heather Lavigne of Portage; step daughter, Ruth LaSure of Chicago; grandchildren, Alexis and Hunter Hayes of Endeavor, Austin LaSure (friend, Esperanza) of Endeavor, Britynn Bliss of Illinois, Phoebe LaSure of Portage, Kaylee and Leven Davey of Richland Center, Aden Daniels of Prairie Du Sac, Terri Kerr Wiedel of Arizona, Susan Kerr of Port Washington, Kevin Kerr of Illinois, Keith Kerr of Portage, Ross Kerr of Illinois; great grandchild, Sophia Hayes of Endeavor; sister, Evelyn and Dale Aellig of California; a special friend, Delores Schehr; and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Clifford Arthur LaSure; their infant son, John LaSure; sister, Dorothy Nickerson; and brothers, Robert and Jim Nickerson; and her best friend, Mary Sauer.

Funeral services will be held at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, Wisconsin, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Kay Hallanger officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice and her boys would like to give a special thank you to Nikki LaSure and Alexis Hayes for the wonderful care they provided before she passed.
