Merwyn William Bauer
ARLINGTON – Merwyn William Bauer, age 87, passed away peacefully April 9, 2025.
He was a charter member of the Arlington Lions Club, loved curling, golfing, farming and helping anyone he could.
He was born on July 7, 1937, the son of Ben & Alta (Loper) Bauer. Merwyn married Joyce Lawry on October 8, 1960, in Oregon, Wisconsin.
He was a devoted husband of 64 years to his wife Joyce and loving dad to: Kari (Bob) Juedes of DeForest, Karla (Will) Grant of Poynette, Brad Bauer of Arlington, Amy (Scott) Elert of Arlington; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Sheena) Ringelstetter, Troy Ringelstetter, Mark (Rebecca) Juedes, Megan (Scott) Juedes, Michael (Angie) Juedes, Shawn (Heidi) Elert, Kayla (Eric) Albright, and Lauryn Bauer; six great grandchildren, Bristol, Reagan, Ben, Brooklyn, Kinsley, and Madelyn; sister-in-law, Janice Lawry; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, Ben and Alta, his first step-mother, Hazel Bauer, his second step-mother, Ruth Bauer and step-sister Joyce Taylor.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home, 426 E. Washington St., Poynette and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Chaplain Dan Pulsfus officiating. The graveside service will be held at Arlington EUB Cemetery in Arlington, WI, lunch to follow.
