Shelby Wren Bartz

ENDEAVOR – Shelby Wren Bartz, age 21, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, surrounded by her loving family and pets.

Shelby was born on March 18, 2004, in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Troy and Roxanne (Podrasky) Bartz. She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 2022. She was a caring person that loved her family and friends, animals, food, and spending her time making meaningful memories. No matter what hardships Shelby was facing, she never failed to make those around her feel seen while keeping a big smile on her face.

She is survived by her father, Troy Bartz and stepmother, Lori Bandt; sister, Raven (Jackson Saunders) Bartz; best friend, Shealee Armstrong; grandparents, Gordon and Shirley Podrasky, and Edwin and Candace Bartz; her dog, Jaxx; and her cat, Murphy; and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Roxanne, and numerous pets.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Wisconsin Dells High School Performing Arts Center, 1501 Brew Farm Road, Wisconsin Dells, WI, with Rev. Steve Keller officiating. Inurnment will be private. A visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at the school.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the family, and will be given, in Shelby’s honor, to charities close to her heart.

The family would like to thank the many friends, nurses, and doctors involved with her care. A special acknowledgment of thanks will be offered at the service.
