Jean A. Mootz
PORTAGE – Jean A. Mootz born March 31, 1939, to parents Harold and Maxine Wescott, in Portage, WI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.
In May of 1961, Jean married Joseph Mootz. They moved to Madison, where they started their family, and Jean began a long career with WPS. After 35 years of service, she decided to retire. She then began a new career as a travel agent.
Jean had a passion for traveling and visiting new places. She visited many places around the world with her sisters, but her favorite place was always Las Vegas!
Jean is survived by her 3 daughters, Jean Marie (Scott) Juisto, Mary (John) Dosch, and Michelle (Jeff) Carroll; her twin sister, Joan Barrick; sister, Dorothy (Paul) Hilgendorf; 5 beautiful grandchildren; 14 beautiful great-grandchildren; 1 amazing great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Maxine; brothers, Dick and Bill Wescott; her sisters, Betty Knudsen and Kay Jenkins; and her husband, Joe Mootz.
We wish to extend an extra special thank you to Agrace for the excellent care and to our Aunt Joan, who was an amazing caregiver to her beloved sister for the past 2 years. Mom was very lucky to have you by her side! We love you!
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
