Craig M. Maier

PORTAGE – Craig M. Maier, age 43, of the Township of Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Craig was born on March 29, 1981, in Portage, WI, the son of Jerome and Shirley (Dreyer) Maier. He was the coordinator, Tallgrass Prairie and Oak Savanna, Fire Science Consortium, Madison.

He is survived by his son, David Maier;  his parents, Jerome and Shirley;  three brothers, Gary (Joann) Maier, Kevin Maier and Doug (Shelley) Maier;  his nieces and nephews, Lauren (Adrian) Sepulveda, Sean (Kristen) Maier, Halie Maier, Ryan Maier, Kortney (Connor) Hunkel, Nicholas (Julia) Maier and Logan (Natalie Patters) Maier; his former wife, Amanda MacLeish;  other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Florentina Maier, and Harold and Evelyn Dreyer.

Private funeral services will be at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Briggsville, with Fr. Randy Timmerman presiding. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
