Dean E. Lapp

BRIGGSVILLE -- Dean E. Lapp, age 63, passed away peacefully from cancer on Friday, August 9, 2024.

Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with family and friends. He never met a stranger, he would strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. He enjoyed being an armchair coach for the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks.  He would help anyone out if he was able to. He had a very caring heart. He lived his life to the fullest and always wore a bright smile. He lived life his way. He was a member of the Briggsville Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years. He dipped his hands in many different occupations; he wanted to try different things.

He met his wife Cathy in 2003 and were married in 2005. They have 5 children between them.  

He is survived by his wife Cathy, mother Judy Lapp, aunt and uncle Ken “Butch” and Doreen Gee, 5 children: Kyle, Ryan, Jennifer, Trevor, Brandi. Two cats, “Bear” and “Sparky”.

Waiting at heaven’s door, preceded in death by father, Herb Lapp, brother, Steve Lapp, aunt, Darlene Wendtz, grandparents, Emery & Ela Lapp, great grandparents, Elmer and Margaret Gee.   

A special thank you to all the hospice nurse, aids, and counselors at SSM Health for all their compassion and help to keep him comfortable. Thank you to Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage for assisting with the arrangements.

A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion in Briggsville Wi, August 24th from 11:00-2:00 with a luncheon served by the auxiliary.

A private ceremony will be held a later date with the family.
