Bernadette (Bernie) C. LaPorte

POYNETTE -- Bernadette (Bernie) C. LaPorte, age 68 of Poynette, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Bernie was born on July 22, 1956, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Harry and Bernadette (Menge) Kopling. She married John LaPorte in Milwaukee, WI. Bernie loved going to rummage sales. She also really enjoyed doing puzzles, going to the casino, and spending time with her family and dogs.

She is survived by her long time significant other, Michael Galica; her children, Harry (Ann) LaPorte, Erica (Craig) Johnson, and Lori LaPorte; grandchildren, Gavin, Briella, Kyson, Shelby Johnson and Lexi (Ben) Wismar; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Finn; and also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her late husband, John S. LaPorte; parents, Harry and Bernadette Kopling; and her sister, Carol Vestren.

There will be no services.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers, nurses, and staff at Unity Point Health Meriter Hospital in Madison who helped take care of Bernie in her time of need.
