Betty L. Gorsuch

WYOCENA – Betty L. Gorsuch, at the age of 94, was called to her eternal home by the Heavenly Father, on June 11, 2024, a Tuesday afternoon at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena, Wisconsin (formerly of Portage and Montello).

Betty was born April 28th, 1930, in Lincoln, Illinois to Clarence L and Susie R. Mason (nee Rogers).  She spent her childhood years living in Rockford, Illinois and Maryville, Tennessee.  She graduated from Everett High School in Maryville, TN in 1948.  Betty worked in telecommunications, bookkeeping and various other jobs in Illinois, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

She had a love for animals, especially dogs.  Hobie the Raccoon was a special pet. She enjoyed watching western movies, with her favorite modern movie being “The Bodyguard” and the song “I Will Always Love You”.  She enjoyed participating in some activities at CHCC, and playing cribbage with her special friend Dan.  Betty was deeply spiritual and a faithful believer in Christ.  Her unexpected humorous statements would make a person smile and laugh.

Betty is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Vickie) Krause of Rockton, Il, and Ronald Matthew (Linda) Gorsuch, Portage, WI; grandchildren, Erin Pospischil, Bradley (Alyssa) Krause, Kiel (Melissa) Krause, Joel (Kate) Krause, and Ryan (Leighann) Gorsuch; great-grandchildren, Estelle, Owen, Marqeaux, Esme, Myles and Riley.  She is further survived by her dear friends Elizabeth Burnette, Dan (Penny) Drager, Francis Woodard and her son Chris.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence L. and Susie R. Mason; her brother Arthur A. Mason; sister-in-law Helen Mason; her son Brian L. Krause; daughter-in-law Connie Larkins; and her husbands, Ken Krause and Ronald E. Gorsuch.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date as Betty’s wishes were to be buried in the mountains of Tennessee.

We would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena for all their compassionate care of Betty.
