Sharon Ruth Ciano
POYNETTE ‒ Sharon Ruth Anderson, Perry, Doiron, Wendt, Ciano age 85, Joined family and friends who have left this earthly plane, November 12, 2024.
Sharon married the love of her life, Marlin Ciano, on March 30, 1990. Early in their marriage, they enjoyed playing darts in leagues and listening to their favorite band, George Thorogood. Sharon and Marlin also had fun trying out new restaurants with their good friends monthly. Their favorite show to watch together when they spent the night in was Stargate. Sharon and Marlin were married for 34 full, wonderful years – even through the difficult ones. They truly loved each other.
As a single mother of seven children, Sharon worked 2 to 3 jobs at a time. She didn’t hesitate to take in other peoples children who needed a place to stay or just to be loved. She was a hard worker and a ‘Mom’ and ‘Grandma’ to many. She adored all the babies and was wonderful with them!
Sharon graduated from Madison East High School in 1957.
Sharon began her career at USAFI, then transferred to Truaxfield, worked for US Air Force-Active until the base closed. Moved on to General Telephone in Madison, where she met her ‘Bestest’ friend Diane Highsmith. They bonded together, shared fun adventures with others from the Joker club and remained best friends till her passing.
Later, Sharon worked as a Federal civilian servant and carried a top secret clearance for her job in Data Automation at the 128th Fighter Wing, for the air National Guard, where she Proudly worked and developed many cherished relationships. She was required to go to the base to download classified communications and get it to the appropriate commanders, sometimes in the middle of the night. She worked there for 40 years around her pregnancies retiring in 1994. During that time she also took a part-time position as a bartender and manager at the NCO club, ‘The Landing Strip’, Where fun and shenanigans were abundant!
While raising two of her grandchildren (Jesus (Chuy) Mata and Cory Morange) with Marlin, Sharon began work at Demco as a packer March 5, 2000, and continued her work there until October 29, 2010, finding valued friendships along the way.

The best way to memorialize Sharon’s passing would be extending kindness to others. Whether that’s a smile, an open door, or an act of kindness.
Her eyes were like a sun,
shining when she smiled. Her bumps and bruises never made her hard,
her softness will forever prevail.Although we’ve been worn and torn,
there was someone who held through.Since the day we were born,
and people like that, you find a few.A woman who is strong,
and at the same time warm. When everything goes wrong,
she will hold through the storm.A woman we respect,
no matter how bad the days.A mother we love,
in so many ways. It’s you mom!
