June Marilyn Breneman

TOWNSHIP OF PACIFIC – June Marilyn Breneman, age 80, of the Township of Pacific, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024, at SSM Hospice House in Baraboo, surrounded by her loving family.

June was born on June 8, 1944, in Portage, the daughter of Herbert and Lois (Morse) Heinze.  In 1962, she graduated from Portage High School and later from Columbia County Teacher’s College.  June married Harlan George Breneman on September 2, 1972, at the Inch United Methodist Church. She had worked at the Portage Hosiery, Preuss Produce Farm, and Lakeside Foods.  She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church.  June loved flowers and had a great love for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Brenda (Jon) Welch, Matthew (Candice) Breneman, and Karl Breneman (significant other, Kalyn Adams); her grandchildren, Carrie Welch (significant other, Eli Clemen), Michael Welch, and Kendel Breneman;  her great-granddaughter, Olivia Clemen;  her brother-in-law, John Breneman;  her sisters-in-law, Karen (Robert) Klaila and Donna (Jim) Lawry.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives as well as many dear friends.  June was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan, her parents, her mother-in-law, Sarah Breneman, her father-in-law, Alvin Breneman, her brother, Walter Heinze, her sister, Rachel Schleicher, her brother-in-law, Raymond Schleicher, sister-in-law, Deborah Breneman, and niece, Kris Morgan.  

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Community United Methodist Church in Poynette, with Rev. Michele Hopp officiating. Burial will follow at Inch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church.
