Richard L. “Dick” Beebe

PORTAGE – Richard L. “Dick” Beebe, age 80, of Portage, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at his residence.

Dick was born on February 23, 1944, in Superior, WI. He had sailed the Great Lakes in the Merchant Marines, and had worked as a boiler maker for over 30 years.  Dick served as an alderman on the Portage City Council and he enjoyed ice fishing.  

He is survived by his wife, Susan; five children, Matthew Brown, Troy Beebe, Rachel Ann (Dan) Page, Patrick Beebe and Suzanne (Travis Mendez) Beebe; grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn (Pat) Crook and Deborah Olson;  other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Campbell, his daughter, Patricia Vanhouten and his step-father, James Hugo Olson.  

A Celebration of Dick’s Life will be held at a later date.                                       

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Portage Police Department and first responders for their care and concern.
