Linda K. Wiese

POYNETTE - Linda K. Wiese, 66, of Poynette, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Linda Kay Wiese was born in a hospital a block from her family home in Poynette on July 22, 1957. Linda was the youngest daughter of Marvin and Achsah (Morse) Kaukl. She graduated from Poynette High School and went on to take the Civil Service examination and began a 30+ year career with the Department of Transportation. On May 19, 1979, Linda married Howard Wiese Jr. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Poynette. They reveled in their claim to fame as owning the first video store in their town of Poynette. Together with great love, partnership in shooting pool, and enjoyment in slow and fastpitch softball, they raised two children, Kelly and Howie III.

Linda was active in her community and care for others. An avid supporter of youth athletics, Linda supported youth softball, football, and basketball. Linda was also active in supporting her community, working with Blessings in a Backpack and Meals on Wheels. Linda enjoyed time spent talking with and checking on the residents on her Meals on Wheels route. Linda changed the world in positive ways for so many. Responding with smiles and hugs to “Nana!”, Linda delighted in anything involving her grandchildren. Linda was often found with one or more grandchildren in her lap or as an avid spectator in their many activities. Linda’s parting wish for her grandchildren was to find a sport or hobby where they could find joy and belonging.

Linda will live in the hearts of her family, survived by her children, Howie III (Paige) Wiese, and Kelly (Jason) Demerath; grandchildren, Aurora, Howie IV, and Forrest Wiese, and Max and Miles Demerath; sister Barbara Pflieger; sisters-in-law Wilma Kaukl, and Linda (Robert) Brodeur; brother, Edward (Theresa) Kaukl; fostered son from the heart, Alex Bodnar; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
