Valerie A. Stone

WYOCENA – Valerie A. Stone, age 89, formerly of Princeton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Columbia County Health Care Center.

Valerie was born on March 23, 1934, near Montello, the daughter of Herman and Irene (Lueck) Stibb. She worked for Monarch Range in Beaver Dam, was dietary aide at Lakeside Memorial Hospital in Beaver Dam, and retired from Speed Queen in Ripon. After retirement she worked part time at Green Lake Conference Center, formerly known as Baptist Assembly Center, in dietary and greenhouse.

Valerie loved puttering in her yard, especially flower and vegetable gardening and watching and feeding the birds at the feeders. She also enjoyed canning, sewing, and embroidering. Valerie had fun cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers.

She is survived by her children, Roxanne Lee Mashuda, Lynn Robert (Laura) Stone, Mark James Stone, and Todd Vernon (Linda) Stone; grandchildren, Christopher (Tess) Mashuda, Abigail Karns, Caleb Stone, Kassia Stone, Tylor Stone, and Jarid Stone; great grandchildren, Timmy, Finley, Claire, Freya, Nolan, Zoiey, Ariana, and Jacoby; brothers, Floyd (Carolyn) and LeRoy Stibb; sisters, Carrie (Darrell) Seehaver and Ruby (Tom) Herbst; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Orlo, Melvin, Gordie, Gibby, Verona, Eunice, Hazel, and a brother in infancy.

Memorial Services will be held at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home, in Portage, Wisconsin on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with Chaplain Nancy Davis officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be private.
