Andrea Lee Gavinski

POYNETTE – Andrea Lee Gavinski, age 80, of Poynette, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Columbia Healthcare Center in Wyocena.

Andrea was born on May 23, 1943, in Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Florentina (Frey) Maier. She was married to Donald Gavinski on February 23, 1963.  He preceded her in death on January 5, 2014.  She will be remembered by the many friends she met while working at Memory Lane and Piggly Wiggly Bakery. Andrea loved taking care of the outside flowers at Columbia Healthcare Center.  She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Poynette.

She is survived by her children, Jamie Gavinski, John (Justine) Gavinski, Richard (Brenda) Gavinski, Donald Gavinski, Jr., Robert (Renee) Gavinski, Kari (Michael) Schultz and Steven (Tracie) Gavinski;  12 grandchildren, Tanya, Joe, Andrew (Courtney), Kayla (Ryan), Emily (Cody), Kevin, Matthew, Thomas, Brylee, Emma, Grace and Kynlee;  two great-grandchildren, Brooks and Bo;  her siblings, Donald (Patricia) Maier, Jerome (Shirley) Maier, Eileen (Jerome) Huber, brother-in-law, Edmund Walters, George (Candace) Maier, Mary (Henry) Gartner, Linda Wolsdorf (Larry) and Theresa (Rick) Coder;  other relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, her brother, Thomas Maier, her twin sister, Judy Walters, her brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Poynette, with Fr. Sanctus Ibe officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Poynette.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

The family would like to thank all of the amazing staff and caregivers at Columbia Healthcare Center in Wyocena for their exceptional loving care they gave our mother.
