Willard L. Carpenter
PORTAGE – Willard L. Carpenter, age 69, of Portage, died peacefully at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison on Friday, June 11, 2021.
Willard was born on February 7, 1952, in Portage, Wisconsin, the son of George and Ruth Carpenter. Willard drove truck most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, watching WWE, going to the Dells raceway park, and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his children, Nannette Olle of Racine, Mike Schneller (Kelly) of Sun Prairie, Rebecca Schneller of Portage, Crystal (Dan) Olnick of Portage, Adam (Kristie) Carpenter of Fall River, Rachel (Brian) Swanke of Markesan, Nicholas Carpenter of Poynette, Kelly Carpenter of Friendship, and Justin Carpenter of Portage; 21 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his partner, Linda Legner of Portage; brothers, Pete (Tess) Carpenter of Pardeeville, Gary Carpenter of Baraboo, and William Carpenter of Portage; sisters, Edna Thompson of Baraboo and Darlene Babcock of Viroqua; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister, Patricia.
A celebration of Willard’s life will be held on July 31, 2021, at 12:00 p.m., at Pauquette Park in PortagePflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
