Charles William Page

PORTAGE – Charles William Page, age 88, of Portage, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born on July 2, 1931 in Gillham, Arkansas, the son of William and Adelia (Dunnigan) Page.  He married Julia Gray on March 31, 1951 in Walnut Hill, IL.  She preceded him in death on December 11, 2019.  Charles was very much a family man, enjoying spending time with his kids and grandkids.  He was an avid reader and gardener, loved flowers and vegetables.  Charles took a lot of pride in his yard.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and history.  Charles and Julia enjoyed going dancing when they were younger.  Charles had worked as a superintendent in commercial construction for Holiday Inn.  He had been a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Charles Edward (Kimberlee) Page, North Little Rock, Arkansas, Jackie (Jeff Thommesen) Feist, Portage, Beverly (Jim) Connor, Portage, Tina (Pat) Rice, Brodhead, WI, Scott (Lori) Page, Rockford, IL, and Bruce Page, Trevor, WI;  grandchildren, Michele (Brian) Feist-Higgins, Heidi (Andy) Alcorn and her daughters, Emily and Eva, Rae (Ira) Feist, Leah (Pat) Gonzagowski, Pete Aliprandini, Christopher (Moona) Page, Matthew (Jennifer) Page and their sons, Benjamin Page and Parker May, Brooke (LaToya) Page, Colton Page, Austin Page, Amy Larke and her children, Michael, William and Dakota;  his brother, Gerald (Sharon) Page, Bernie, MO;  his sister-in-law, Christine (Buck) Sargent, Tennessee;  other relatives and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael, and his wife, Julia.  

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at St. Charles Township Cemetery in St. Charles, Illinois.
