Karen L. Gottschalk

PORTAGE – Karen L. Gottschalk, age 77, passed away peacefully at Tivoli in Portage on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

Karen was born on July 26, 1943, in Platteville, WI, the daughter of Leonard and Hazel (Popp) Jones. She married Phillip M. Gottschalk on December 11, 1965 in Platteville, WI. She graduated from Platteville High School;  then attended the Methodist School of Nursing, obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree.  Karen worked as a Surgical Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. In her free time, Karen enjoyed ceramics, horseback riding and watching the Packers.

She is survived by her sister, Sally Redfern of Portage; brothers, John (Sheri) Jones of Platteville, Charles (Jean) Jones of Mifflin, Gary Jones of Platteville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law, Mark Redfern.  

Services will be private.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tivoli and Agrace Hospice for their care and support.
