Marjorie Weyh Williams

PORTAGE—Marjorie Weyh Williams, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2017, at Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.

Marjorie was born on December 24, 1920, in Racine, Minnesota, the daughter of Curtin and Amanda (Utzinger) King. She worked for 20 years at Spurgeon’s Department Store in Portage. She was a longtime member of Trinity UCC Church in Portage. Marjorie loved flowers and enjoyed playing cards and games.

She is survived by her children, Veryle (Noel) Weyh of Washington/Arizona, Jeanne (James) Brinks of Morrisonville, Darwin (Michelle) Weyh of Detroit, Michigan; sister, Della Young of Nevada; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Dennis Williams of Wylie, Texas, Norma Dreyer of Waukesha, Shirley Kalbus of Poynette and Eldon’s dear friend and loving companion, Donna Clavering; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Orville Weyh; second husband, George Williams; son, Eldon Weyh; daughter, Arlys Weyh; sisters, Helen (Rolland) Zimmerman, Evelyn Mayer, Myrna (Frank) McDaniel; brother-in-law, Alvin Young; step-daughters, Doris Williams and Margaret Hawley.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, 503 W. Prospect Street, Portage, Wisconsin, on Friday, July 21, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Kay Hallanger officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lewiston Township. Visitation will be at the church on July 21, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
