Eunice Barbara Shannon

PARDEEVILLE – Eunice Barbara Shannon, age 95, of Pardeeville, passed away peacefully at Tivoli in Portage, on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Eunice was born on February 14, 1922, in Norwalk, WI, the daughter of Michael and Emma Donskey. She married Kenneth Shannon on July 6, 1946. Eunice was a nurse in the Army during World War II and remained active in the Pardeeville American Legion. After the war, she continued her work as a nurse in Green Bay and then Milwaukee while her husband attended dental school. Together, they moved to Pardeeville where they raised their four children. Eunice was a member of St. Faustina Catholic Church in Pardeeville.

She is survived by her children, Peter (Laurie) Shannon, Mary (James) Rusch, Tricia Moran, and Thomas (Susan) Shannon; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; brother, Norbert Donskey; and son-in-law, Ron Moran.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Faustina Catholic Church in Pardeeville on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Burial will be at Pardeeville Cemetery with military honors provided by the Pardeeville Area Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
