Emily E. Schoeneberg

ARLINGTON – Emily E. Schoeneberg, age 91, of Arlington, passed away peacefully at Columbia County Health Care Center on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Emily was born on July 15, 1926, in Arlington, the daughter of Julius and Anna (Steffenhagen) Haupt. She graduated from Poynette High School and then married Raymond Schoeneberg, Jr. on November 25, 1944, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. Emily worked for the United States Postal Service. She will always be remembered for sharing her baked goods, especially her cookies.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Raymond; children, Kathryn (Robert) Damaske of Rice Lake, Judith (Dean) Traut of Portage, Jane (Richard) Jensen of Arlington; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Mary Schoeneberg and Kathleen Schoeneberg, both of Poynette; brother-in-law, Henry Pulsfus of Portage; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Valeria Dieruf and brother, Vernon Haupt.  

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Arlington, Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Christopher Amen officiating. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in the Town of Leeds. Visitation will be at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
