Frances “Frannie” E. Rosenau

PORTAGE – Frances “Frannie” E. Rosenau, age 71, of Portage, passed away at SSM Health - St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison on Monday, January 1, 2018.

Frances was born on June 4, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Ruby (Maxwell) Hutt. She graduated from Tuley High School in Chicago. Frances married Jerald Rosenau on February 28, 1978 in Elgin, IL.  Frances worked for the UW the last 18 years of her career, which she loved. She was recognized throughout the country for her expertise in costume jewelry. She enjoyed extensive travels to antique shows with her husband where her knowledge and wisdom were always sought out.

She is survived by her husband, Jerald Rosenau of Portage; son, John Montognese Bergamini of Madison; daughter, Debra Ellen of Sterling, IL; son-in-law, Mark Nice of Rockford, IL; granddaughter, Britany Ellen Nice of Dixon, IL; sisters, Anna Jean Schwichtenberg of Carpentersville, IL, Nancy Barbeau of Glen Ellyn, IL; sister-in-law, Joyce Post of Waterloo, WI; niece, Tiffany (Josh) Prochnow of Cambridge, WI; other dear relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruby Hutt; brothers, Bill Baker, James Baker; nieces and nephews, Ricky, Jim and Kurta.  

Memorial services will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, Wisconsin, on          Friday, January 12, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 12, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., followed by Words of Remembrance.
