Duane L. Ostrander PORTAGE – Duane L. Ostrander, age 75, of Portage, passed away at SSM Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison on Thursday, January 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Duane was born on November 18, 1942, in Monroe, WI. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Duane was a fun-loving guy who never met a stranger. He loved his family which grew very large over the years. He had a passion for fast cars, the Packers, Badgers and NASCAR, along with local short-track racing. He loved to travel, liked to fish, and hunted in his younger years. He was a jack of all trades and could fix or build anything. One summer, he even worked as a stunt driver and rolled cars for the Crash Dick Thrill Show. He retired from Seneca Foods after working in Maintenance for over 20 years. He is survived by his loving fiancé, Mary Christianson; sons, David Ostrander, Darrin (Jane Vander Kooy) Ostrander; stepchildren, Peter Flickner, Leslie (Carl) Griepentrog, Elton (Kathy) Kleist, Errol (Anne) Kleist, Jeff Kleist; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Linda nee Loomis (Jim) Kieffer; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; daughter, Jackie; brothers, Ron and Gene. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Portage Lions Club, P. O.
