Armin E. Ohnesorge

PARDEEVILLE—Armin E. Ohnesorge, age 85, of Pardeeville, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

Armin was born on October 14, 1931 in Door County, Wisconsin, the son of Herman and Magdalene (Pankow) Ohnesorge.  He served his country with the U.S. Army.  Armin had spent his entire career in law enforcement and served in the capacity of Columbia County Sheriff until his retirement. He really enjoyed his great-looking children and grandchildren, world traveling with family and his boat club friends, spending time at the boat club, being with his close friends and family, teaching hunters safety course to first-time hunters, growing cherries and spending time in Door County on his parents homestead.

He is survived by his children, Kerry Ohnesorge, Mosinee, Sue Mydra (Rick), Fish Creek, Tony (Lorraine) Penn, Weyauwega, and Steve Penn, Kodiak, Alaska;  grandchildren, Nathan, Hannah, Brady, Michael, Sam, Chris, and Madi;  great-grandson, Cole;  his brothers, Ronald (Joyce) Ohnesorge, Marshfield, and Merle Ohnesorge, Poynette;  his sisters, Emmy Thompson, Sun Prairie, Marian Tarrant, Kailua, Hawaii, and Laurel “Jean” Burkett, Denver, Colorado;  other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Delores, his second wife, Bernice, his brothers, Waldo “Pete” Ohnesorge and Billy Ohnesorge, and his sister, Dorothy Ottman.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Pacific Cemetery with the Rev. Julie Krahn officiating.  Friends may greet the family at the cemetery from 12:00 noon until time of service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, 600 Highland Ave., K4/658, Madison, WI 53703.
