Nancy H. Mientke

PORTAGE -- Nancy H. Mientke, of Portage, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage.

Nancy was born on April 12, 1941, in Madison, the daughter of Wilbert and Florence (Gottschall) Kempfer. She graduated from Madison East High School. Nancy was married on February 14, 1994 to James Merlin Mientke at St. Paul’s in DeForest, WI. She had worked at Traex Plastic Factory. Nancy was a faithful caregiver to her husband for 13 years, a loving mother, and a courageous woman.

She is survived by her husband, James Merlin Mientke, Portage; two daughters, Tammy (Don) DeBaere and Susan (Ray) Winter; granddaughter, Lindsey Peterson; grandson, Don Jr. (Lauren) DeBaere; other relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Robert Gottschall, Richard Kempfer, Charlene Kempfer and Bruce Kempfer.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home (www.pmmfh.com) in Portage with Rev. Greg Hovland officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
