Pastor Stephen Lee Kurth

POYNETTE - Pastor Stephen Lee Kurth of Poynette, WI, age 75, passed away on March 22, 2017, at Luther Manor in Milwaukee, WI.

Pastor Stephen was born on October 25, 1941, in Chicago IL, the son of Richard and Jeanne (Jaeckle) Kurth. He graduated from St. Olaf College and Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. He served at Nativity Parish in Wauwatosa, Bethel Faith Parish in Poynette and Morrisonville, and Bethel Parish in Poynette. Pastor Stephen was instrumental in building the Pioneer Place residences in Poynette.

He is survived by his sister, Karen (Bob Hanson) Ingvoldstad of Neshkoro, WI, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard and a sister Laurie, both in infancy, and a sister Cathy Kneebone.   

Memorial services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rio, Wisconsin, on Friday, July 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop Mary Froiland officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at the church on July 28, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice in Milwaukee, Habitat for Humanity, or the ELCA Hunger Fund.
