James E. Knappenberger

MONTELLO – James E. Knappenberger, age 77, of Montello, passed away peacefully at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg on Thursday, January 18, 2018.

James was born on January 31, 1940, in Janesville, the son of Arthur and Bernice (Johnsen) Knappenberger. He had worked as a celebrity photographer in Las Vegas and as well as an apartment building manager.

He is survived by his fiancé, Peggy Dibble of Portage; children, Theresa (Mark) Heisz of Lebanon, MO, Michael (Brandy) Knappenberger of Pardeeville; sisters, Kay (Marven) Sanden of Newville; Carol (Bob) Leuenberger of South Beloit, IL; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary and Dennis; niece, Diana Gilboy; and granddaughter, Skylar Knappenberger.  

Memorial services will be held at North Scott Baptist Church in Pardeeville, Wisconsin, on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Agrace HospiceCare and the residents on Forest Lane in Montello for their care and support.
