Delores L. Kluth

PORTAGE – Delores L. Kluth, age 97, of Portage, passed away peacefully at Divine Savior Healthcare on September 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Delores was born on September 23, 1919, the daughter of Julius and Irene (Simonson) Grotzke. She married Carl Kluth on July 27, 1940, in Elkader, Iowa. She was employed at Weyenberg Shoe Factory for 45 years--35 years as a stitcher and 10 years as a supervisor in the Fitting Department. Delores loved growing up in the country as well as baking, sewing and gardening. She enjoyed her grandchildren, family and her many friends. Delores was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lewiston and the Portage VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Sally Jane (Joe) Warren of Portage, Carl “Butch” (Stacey) Kluth of Sun Prairie; sister, Jane (Jim) Brunt of Clawson, MI; 4 grandchildren, Tammy Jordan of Azle, TX, Joseph Carl (Kara) Warren of Madison, Jennifer Warren of Plover, Cade Kluth of Sun Prairie; 1 great-granddaughter, Jordan Snyder of Azle, TX ; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Albert Kluth; brother, Harley Grotzke; and sister, Eunice Scherbert.

Funeral services will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage (www.pmmfh.com) on Monday, September 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. William Grimm officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Lewiston, or the Portage VFW Auxiliary.
