Gregory J. Holland

PARDEEVILLE/PORTAGE – Gregory J. Holland, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at his home in Saddle Ridge, surrounded by his loving family.

Greg was born on May 31, 1956, in Waukegan, IL, the son of George and Lucille (Theobald) Holland. He married Debbie Kohnke on August 2, 1980, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect, IL. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1979. Greg was the owner/operator of Ashline-Holland Electric, Holland Contractors, and previously worked for Krouscup Electric. He loved playing rugby, basketball, softball and golf.

He is survived by “his bride”, Debbie; children, Tiffany (Garry) Hopper, Bill (Jenna) Holland, Kristina (Casslan) Neesam, Katie Holland; grandchildren, Julia, Owen and Natalie Hopper, Jayda Holland, Hadleigh and Grant Neesam; brother, Gary (Cindy) Holland; sister, Peg (John) Silovich; mother and father-in-law, William and Ann Kohnke; and his buddy, Kiki. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille; beloved granddaughter, Peyton; and dear friend, Tom Roche.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home (www.pmmfh.com) in Portage on Monday, May 1, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by Words of Remembrance.     

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
