Guy R. Berst

WAUWATOSA – Guy R. Berst, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2017, at his home in Wauwatosa, WI, after living with colon cancer for three years.

Guy was born on March 12, 1971, in Joliet, IL, the son of Robert T. and Nancy K. (Cregan) Berst. He graduated from Portage High School in 1989. He received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and earned his master’s degree from Concordia University in Mequon, WI. He worked at the Medical College of Wisconsin for 15 years. Guy was charismatic and loved live music, the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and all things Wisconsin. He was funny and loved to laugh. But above all, he was dedicated to his son and treasured their time together. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him best.

He is survived by his son, Cregan Berst; Cregan’s mother and longtime friend, Terese Nadboralski; sister, Stephanie Berst; dog, Cooper; uncle and aunt, John (Frances) Berst; cousins, Steve (Julie) Korst, Jeff (Joy) Korst, Mary Korst, Mike (Laura) Korst, Kathy (David) Sylvester, John (Laura) Berst; other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Nancy Berst; aunt, Sally Korst and uncle, Eugene Korst.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
