Charles E. Van Horn

PORTAGE  --  Charles E. Van Horn, age 78, passed away on March 1, 2016, at his residence in Portage.

Charles was born on May 15, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Judge and Kathleen (Walton) Van Horn.  He married Judy (Wiedman) Van Horn and they were together for 45 years. Charles worked as a carpenter and liked to work on watches. He also loved watching the Packers, western movies, and enjoyed spending time with the grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his sons, Kelly (fiancé, Meaghan Kelly) Vils and Troy (Stephanie) Vils; his grandchildren, Cierra, Samantha, Kristopher, Brandan and Sydney; his great-granddaughter, Mylah; his sister, Judene Stormer; nephews, Arthur (Debra) Davenport and Richard Duncan; other relatives and many close friends.

Memorial services will be at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Aaron Ramquist officiating.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
