Robert R. Tollison

PORTAGE  --  Robert R. Tollison, age 81, of Portage, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his home in Portage.

Bob was born on December 4, 1934 in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, the son of Lorin and Rosella (Saxton) Tollison.  He graduated from Barneveld High School.  Bob was married on February 10, 1962 in Durand, WI to Patricia Rosenberg.  She preceded him in death on May 12, 2001.  Together with his wife, Patricia, he owned and operated several taverns and restaurants over the years;  The T-Birds in Durand, WI, The Anchor Inn in Kenosha, the Lean-To and Rathskeller, both in Portage.  Bob loved to bowl and golf; and was a fan of the Packers, Badgers and Brewers.  He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage.

He is survived by his children, Julie Linberg (Ron Geyer), Kokomo, IN, Roberta Tollison, Portage, Brian (Debbie) Tollison, Portage, Dan (Rhonda) Tollison, Portage, David (JoAnne) Tollison, Tomahawk,  Jacque (Justin) Strayer, Eau Claire, and Rebecca (William) Glass, Eau Claire;  21 grandchildren;  5           great-grandchildren;  his brother, Jerry (Arlene) Tollison, Portage;  his sister, Lorene Collins, Barneveld;  other near relatives and many close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia, his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Bill Zwettler, and his brother-in-law, Ed Collins. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 305 W. Cook St., Portage, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundations for our Future Capital Campaign, St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portage.
