Michael Schmidt

PORTAGE  --  Michael Schmidt, age 57, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at his home in Marcellon Township.

Michael was born on January 12, 1959, in Portage, the son of Gerald and Betty (Koepp) Schmidt. 

He is survived by his children, Jeremy (Brianna Smith) Schmidt, of Wisconsin Dells, and Sara Schmidt, of Portage; his grandchildren, Emma, Evan and Micaela; his parents, Gerald and Betty Schmidt; his sisters, Laurie (James) Briggs, of Dalton, and Sharon (Dale) Rainey, of Montello, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his son Aaron, and his grandparents, Edna and Arthur Koepp, and William and Mabel Schmidt.  

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home, in Portage, with Chaplain Nancy Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.         

The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
