Dean E. Olson

POYNETTE  --  Dean E. Olson, age 58, of Poynette passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 29, 2016, due to heart complications.

He was born on June 27, 1957, the son of Harold and Helen (Muzatko) Olson. He served his country in the US Navy from 1976-1977, stationed at Subic Bay in the Philippines. He married Janet Brockel in Arlington on March 30, 1985. He worked at Covance Research Laboratories in Madison. Dean was a loving husband and father who always tried to be there for those around him. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as shooting guns with his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Scot and Sarah Olson; his sisters, LuAnn Olson, Dianne Degner (James), Vickie Hillestad (Dean); his brothers, Duane Olson (Kelly) and Dale Olson; his sister-in-law, Kris Young; and his brother-in-law, Greg Falk. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other near relatives and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Olson; his sister, Ellen Falk; and his brother, David Olson.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette, with Chaplain Tom Drury officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private.
