James E. "Jim" (Bud) O'Neill

PARDEEVILLE  --  James E. “Jim” (Bud) O’Neill, age 91, of Pardeeville, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at his home in Pardeeville.

Jim was born on July 19, 1924, in Baraboo, the son of James and Helen (Goggin) O’Neill.  He was a life-long livestock dealer, and a local used car dealer in Pardeeville for over 10 years.  He had owned and operated Pardeeville Truck Stop and Shady Oaks Restaurant on Hwy 51 South.     

He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Pardeeville, his children and step-children, his grandchildren and step-grandchildren, his great-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, and his great-great grandchildren, nieces nephews, other relatives and many friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Helen Hart in December of 2015, his daughters, Patricia McCarthy and Marilyn Brandt, his grandson, Tim O’Neill, and a nephew and God son, Charles Hart.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage, with Rev. Greg Hovland officiating.  Burial will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Pardeeville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home, in Portage, and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.    

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established by the family.
