Timothy H. Myers

MARSHALL – Timothy H. Myers, age 66, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at his home in Marshall, surrounded by his loving family.

Timothy was born on May 29, 1950, in Portage, the son of Arlen and Wilma (Mills) Myers. He graduated from Portage High School in 1968 and then proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Susan Borchardt on August 25, 2001. Timothy retired from Capital Newspapers after 20 years, but was in the industry for over 40 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. Tim appreciated life and always took things “one day at a time”. He was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Myers of Marshall; father, Arlen (Mary) Myers of Oxford; mother-in-law, Patricia Borchardt of Hartland; children, Kevin (Carin) Myers of Poynette, Billie Myers of Poynette, Aaron Myers of Portage; stepchildren, Benjamin Breidenbach of Marshall, Emily (Wilton) McGhee of Milton; brother, Mike (Jody) Myers of Montello, sister, Kim (Robert) McFarlane of McHenry, IL; grandchildren, Adam Myers and Maxwell Blackard, both of Portage; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma “Billie” Bernhardt; step-father, Walter Bernhardt; brothers, Rick Myers and Terry Myers and father-in-law, James Borchardt.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage on Monday, February 6, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Military honors will be provided by the Portage Area Veterans Honor Guard at 4:00 p.m. Inurnment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Timothy’s name to the UW Carbone Cancer Research Center, Attn: Katie Williquette, 600 Highland Ave., K4/658, Madison, WI 53792-6164.
