Mrs. Nancy E. Mendrala

COVINGTON, GEORGIA — Mrs. Nancy E. Mendrala, age 85, of Conyers, Georgia died on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Riverside Health Care Center in Covington, Georgia.

Nancy was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 10, 1930 the daughter of Dorothy Mary (Wenzel) and Charles A. Kuecker.  She attended the Illinois Masonic Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated as a Registered Nurse.    She was married to William E. Mendrala on December 27, 1950.  He preceded her in death on April 8, 2004.  Together with her husband, a Registered Pharmacist, she owned and operated several Drug Stores in the Chicago area for many years. After raising her four children, Nancy returned to nursing working with Hospice and Home Health patients. After this, she worked with Alzheimer’s and cancer patients at the VA Medical Center in Tomah, Wisconsin. Later in life Nancy had owned and operated the Sweet and Special Candy Company in Tomah, Wisconsin.  She was an excellent cook and baker.

Survivors include her children; Karen Sue (Rev. David) Yeiser of Fairfield, Ohio, Robert Raymond (Valori) Mendrala of Portage, Wisconsin, and Judith Marie (Paul) Wilson, of Conyers, Georgia; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Karen Mendrala, Leawood, Kansas;  7 grandchildren, Bethany and Robert Yeiser, Andrew (Emily) Mendrala, Joseph and Angela Mendrala, Daniel and Joseph Mendrala; one great-grandson, Donald “Doc” Mendrala; her sister, Mrs. Jean Babrick of Defiance, Missouri, her brother, Charles (Marianne) Kuecker, of Beloit Wisconsin; her brother - in -law and sister-in-law, Raymond (Ruth) Mendrala, Flat Rock, North Carolina; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Donald William Mendrala, and her sister, Mrs. Carole Erickson

Funeral services will be private.  Private inurnment will take place at the Pardeeville Cemetery, Pardeeville, Wisconsin.
