Michael F. "Mike" Kubasik, Jr.

PORTAGE  --  Michael F. “Mike” Kubasik, age 42 , passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Mike was born on April 28, 1974 in Milwaukee, the son of Michael Kubasik, Sr. and Sally Kaszuba.  He married Brenda Peterson on September 14, 2002, in Madison.  Mike loved being a stay-at-home-dad for his two boys.  He was an Eagle Scout, and currently Cubmaster and a Den Leader for Cub Scouts Pack 70, and committee chair for Boy Scouts Troop 70.  As an avid outdoor enthusiast, Mike loved to hunt, especially turkeys, as well as fishing and camping.  He enjoyed working with his hands.  He prepared many wonderful outdoor meals using his collection of cast iron cookware.           

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kubasik; his sons, Hunter and Lukas Kubasik, all of Pardeeville; his father, Mike (Syndi) Kubasik, Sr., of Crivitz; his mother, Sally Kaszuba, of Milwaukee; his sister, Shelly (Jermy) Starcke, of Muskego; his nieces and nephew, Brittany, Jermy, Jr., Brielle and Brenna Starcke; his father- and mother-in-law Richard and JoEllen Peterson of Milwaukee; his sister-in-law Amy (Paul) Heding and niece Charlotte of Waukesha; his brother-in-law Keith Peterson of Milwaukee, many cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends from all walks of life.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Evelyn Kubasik, and his godfather, Daniel Warnix.

A Celebration of Life, with a sharing of memories, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Pastor Michael Muscanaro officiating.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
