Charles Wayne Hampshire MADISON – Charles Wayne Hampshire, age 70, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. Charles was born on May 29, 1946, in Portage, the son of Wood and Arlene (Klemp) Hampshire. He served his country in the United States Army from April 12, 1966, until April 11, 1969, in the Vietnam War. Charles worked in the concrete business for many years, both for himself and others. He volunteered with Mercy Hospice in Janesville and had been a member of the VFW and the Masonic Lodge. He was a stock car racing enthusiast. He is survived by five daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Derr, of Columbus, Elizabeth (Troy) Sauer of Fall River, Emily (Ted) Babilius of Fall River, Arlene Kittredge-Hampshire and Anna Kittredge-Hampshire, both of Highland, Indiana; four sisters, Linda (John) Bornheimer of Missouri, Nancy (Ken) Breezer of Minoqua, JoAnn (John) Kurth of Neenah, Susan (Brian) Baley of Cazenovia; five grandchildren, Roderick (Carolyn) Babilius of Hudson, Bridget Derr and Jordan Derr, both of Columbus, Madalyn Sauer and Jackson Sauer, both of Fall River; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Amy Hampshire, in infancy. The family would like to thank the staff at the William S.
