Gary Wayne Hall

PORTAGE – Gary Wayne Hall, age 70, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the VA Hospital in Madison, surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born on January 2, 1946, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Irving and Marjorie (Major) Hall. He married Donna McConnell on February 8, 1969, at Monona Lutheran Church. He proudly served his country in Vietnam, in the US Marine Corp. Gary worked at Oxford Federal Correctional Institution and was a chef at various Portage-area restaurants. After retiring from Ray-O-Vac in Portage in 2008, Gary then drove for Portage Taxi.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Hall of Pardeeville; children, Tina Hall of Baraboo, Troy (Kara Watts) Hall of Portage; grandchildren, Amelia Rose (Michael) Schuster, Brianna Neprud, Sophia Olive Neprud, Jamie David Mohr, Keelin James Mohr, Kaydeen-May Hall, Devan Riley Hall; nephew, Robert John Hall of Thailand; several step-grandchildren, many other near relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Marjorie Hall.  

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Military honors will be at 3:00 p.m., provided by the Portage Area Veterans Honor Guard. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for future donations.
