Jon J. "Jim" Ellis

LEWISTON TOWNSHIP/WISCONSIN DELLS – Jon J. “Jim” Ellis, age 55, passed away at his home in Lewiston Township       , Columbia County, on Saturday, December 17, 2016.

Jim was born on September 1, 1961, in Portage, the son of Jon J. and Marjorie (Burns) Ellis. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and riding his four-wheeler.

Jim is survived by his mother, Marge Ellis of Lewiston Township; his sisters, Lori (Glenn) Schultz, of Merrimac, Annie (John) Stensrud, of Montello, Kari (Steve) Moore, of Portage, and Terri LaFleur of Westfield; a special niece, Natasha Stensrud, of Montello; special nephews, Justin Schultz, and Ryan Schultz, both of Merrimac, and Jacob LaFleur, of Portage, nephews and nieces; his brothers-in-law, Bill LaFleur and Bill Tierney, both of Portage, other relatives, many good friends, and his loyal canine companions, Mitzi and Suzi.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jon Ellis, on June 4, 2004, his sister, Cindy Tierney, on November 3, 2004, and his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Pastor Debbie Tank officiating.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, on Thursday at the funeral home.
